Why become a RLCA Member

We invite you to join the Redstone Lake Cottagers Association (RLCA) representing Bitter, Burdock, Coleman, Little Redstone, Pelaw and Redstone Lakes.  For an annual membership fee of only $30 you will enjoy many benefits as well as a variety of discounts and promotions.

  • RLCA is a member of Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations (FOCA) and Coalition of Haliburton Property Owners’ Associations (CHA)
  • We work to protect your property values through close contact with the Ministry of Natural Resources
  • We monitor water quality monthly from May to October at several locations on our lakes
  • In 2014 we joined the Love Your Lake program and shoreline assessments were conducted. Results and recommendations were mailed out to all property owners who participated
  • Membership fees are needed to build up reserves (war chest) to deal with any potential environmental issues, i.e. Blue Green Algae, Invasive Species Eurasian Milfoil which would be extremely costly to eliminate from our lakes should they occur
  • Our Executive interacts with local politicians regularly.  Your membership increases our strength in defending your interests
  • We alert cottagers of potential issues affecting our lakes and properties
  • We have an Annual General Meeting in July with speakers that address topics of interest to our members; water quality, septic maintenance, County road maintenance, boating & ATV safety
  • Members in good standing (identified by a Membership Confirmation letter) enjoy discounts with a number of local businesses such as Arborview Tree Care, Superior Propane, French’s Septic, Dawson Insurance, Floyd Hall Insurance, Cottage First by CADE Insurance.  As well Cottage Life offers a discount on a magazine subscription and the Canadian Canoe Museum offers a one-time FREE 1 yr. membership. See our website for details.
  • New members receive a map of Redstone and surrounding lakes and two RLCA membership signs (dock and driveway)
  • Our Newsletter is produced in the Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer
  • We have our own website with lots of information
